EMI: Emergency Management Institute (FEMA/DHS)
To join the organization, applications must be submitted for formal review. The following free courses MUST BE COMPLETED including an appropriate certificate and/ or transcript(s) submitted.
Begin by obtaining your FEMA SID
EMI ONLY:
Use your FEMA SID and to complete these following courses and the final exams:
· ICS-100
· ICS-200
· NIMS-700
· NIMS-800
· INTRO TO ESF’s
Other important courses that MUST BE COMPLETED are as follows:
· Animals-In-Disaster
· Community Preparedness
· Terrorism Awareness
· Convective Weather Basics (Create a Meted UCAR Account)
· SKYWARN: Role of a SKYWARN Spotter
· Hurricanes (Meted)
· International Federation of Red Cross & Red Crescent: Volunteering
· Hazardous Materials: Awareness
· Fire ExtinguisherTraining.com (Need to Pass this test)
· Naloxone (Opioid Overdose Intervention) Online Training
· CDC “Heads Up” Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Certificate (Any Level Will be approved)

· EMI: ICS-200 for Healthcare
· Each individual ESF: 1-15 (As are Available)
· EMI: Ethics

· EMI: Radiological Emergency Response
· EMI: CERT Intro to ICS
· EMI: Radiological Emergency Management
· Swiftwater Rescue Awareness
· 10 Self- Selected “Electives” EMI Independent Study (Certificates)
· EMI: Professional Development Series
· 5 National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (Certificate)
· 5 Columbia University/ Mailman School Preparedness (Certificate)
· 2 Disasterready.org- Sourced (Certificate)
